Spider Solitaire: what to know before playing

Take a moment to read the table. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Treat this as a chance to practise one rule. Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.

A small practice goal

A clear plan starts with the current position. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

One way to understand the rules

A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Notice this detail

Use the rule sheet as a reference. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.
